Since CNY is fast approaching exactly in one week time, I decided to publish the following few
photos which were taken in Singapore on 25 December 2009.
While I was travelling around Chinatown, I came across this cute little lion dance by the roadside.

#1. The mini lion dance hanging off from wires just like how strings are attached to puppets
in puppet theatre.

#2 Good golden bokeh spotted at the background.

#3 So many chopsticks! Are you reading to have
yee sang or some called
lou sang!!
LOU SANGGGGGGGGGG!
#4 Assorted colours of chopsticks spotted. With these amount of chopsticks, you better buy a whole lorry of
lou sang!

#5 Lastly, I know you surely love food photo on my blog. LOL
That's all for today's update. Tata and see you soon!

Chinese New Year is fast approaching. The CNY decoration at The Oval, One Utama New Wing
is really eye-catching.
The following pictures are test shots using the new Nikon 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5.

#1 Front view. Three prosperity cat or more widely known as "chiu choi mau" in cantonese.

#2 Vertical view of the prosperity cat. Fyi, the hands of the prosperity cat really can move up and down which resembles the act of attracting luck and wealth.

#3 Various stalls are set around the CNY decorations. See the lotus floor decorations. Beautiful indeed.

#4 Photo enthusiast and self-proclaimed camwhorist also can't waste the opportunity to take shots.

#5 This photo is taken at level one.

#6 Closer shots of the prosperity cats. This also taken at level one.

#7 Superb wide angle indeed. From ground floor right to the roof.

#8. Not to miss the lantern decoration around The Oval. Yellow, red and red lantern.
Chinese New Year is certainly around the corner.
It is time to collect ang pow! Kindly inform me if you are opening house. Woohoo!

New World Park Revisited 09'

Hello seasons greeting to all my readers. Wishing all my fellow readers
an early happy new year and perhaps happy chinese new year as well.
As promised in the previous post, I will be posting about the food at the New World
Park,
located near Swatow lane. There used to be few hawker stalls which sells exquisite
Penang famous food e.g. char keoy teow, penang ice kacang with ice cream and fruits, penang lobak and so on.However, modernisation kicks in and hence, a large food court was built few years back
The old stalls were nowhere to be seen anymore except for the stall which sells the
thirst-breaking penang ice kacang with ice cream and fruits.
The auntie that used to fry char keoy teow; spotting googles on her face is no longer around.
Gone were the days that Penangnites or even we as tourists can enjoy the exquisite fried char
keoy teow with big prawns. I certainly missed it. It will forever be in my memory though.
Fret not. Now the main attraction for my taste bud is the following kungfu chow mee.
It is not only dirt cheap at RM5 but the portion is certainly filling up to the very top of your stomach. My advice to you is that
"don't try to order side dish or you will end up walking
like a penguin off the food court"
#1 Certainly one of the best kungfu chow mee in Malaysia. It certainly worth every penny.

#2 The slimmy-egg texture is really the essence behind a real good kungfu chow mee. The big prawns and coloured char siew really soothing and appetizes before you plunge the food into the mouth.

#3 Penang lobak. Don't miss this dish when you visit to Penang. Certainly a must to try it.

#4 Fried oyster with egg. Not strongly recommended as it was served mainly with starch and
filled with very little oyster.

#5 Yet another angle of the fried oyster with eggs.

#6 Penang Lobak served with sauce. Don't forget to dip the lobak into the two sauces. In fact the sauces add the aroma to the lobak.

#7 Penang Lobak mainly comprised of fried stuffs
as seen on the above pics. I, personally do not fancy Penang lobak. However, have a go at it and taste for yourself.
Till then, I am signing off. Hope you enjoy yourself with the food. Take care and adios.

Penang Famous Two Sisters Char Kuey Teow

Two weeks ago, Penang was revisited. When you mention Penang to any Malaysians,
the first thing that comes in mind is the food. Penang is like a gourmet paradise where you are
trully blessed with all kinds of delicious food.
The first place that my tour guide, Mr Alan Khoo took us
(on request by father) is the famous
two sisters char kuey teow restaurant. The restaurant was already operating at the time
we reached the restaurant. Indeed, there were two sisters operating the stall. However,
it seems that the elder one does all the cooking.

#1 Fresh home cooked otak-otak. I would say that it tasted not bad. Give it a try for yourself.

#2 And this is our breakfast for that very morning. The famous two sisters char keoy teow served with big prawns and crab meat sprinkled on it.
Next up is the feasting at the New World Hawker Centre
previously known as the Swatow Lane hawker stalls as the lane used to house few stalls with very, very delicious food and famous ice kacang. So stay tuned!
